WHO Regional Publications, Social determinants of health in countries in conflict A perspective from the Eastern Mediterranean Region,2008: Eastern Mediterranean Series 32.

This report published by the WHO regional office for the Eastern Mediterranean attempts to document the impact of conflict on health through their effect on social determinants of health in the six countries of the region affected by humanitarian crisis resulting from conflict. From the report, one can identify the social determinants of health specific to crisis settings, understand the unique dimensions of the conventional social determinants which operate in such settings and suggest interventions that could help mitigate their impact.
