This paper by Kannabiran discusses the nature of Adivasi engagement with the law and the constitution of the country, which has been primarily determined by their relations of land. The attempt has been to cull out these connections which have emerged from some of their collective engagements with the constitution and the law pertaining to Adivasi right in India. It also discusses how popular sovereignty has given voices to certain good practices and knowledge systems in their history.
