Poor health status of rural and tribal communities of India is a perplexing question today. Moving beyond the bio-medical understanding of the diseases, this book explains how the multiple social determinants such as socio, cultural, geographical, and economic determinants causes the 50 illness that are commonly seen among the rural and tribal communities in central Indian states. Based on the field exploration and data collection, the book provides deeper insights on how deprivation is biologically embodied as illness.
