The study highlights the sexual violence used by the various armed groups to destabilize the communities   in the conflict ridden Democratic Republic of Congo. sexual violence-related pregnancies (SVRPs) is also becoming common in congo. Unintended pregnancy is associated with risks to maternal health and poor pregnancy outcomes. The study points out that women in this study had limited access to evidence-based safe abortion care and faced potential consequences from unsafe abortion, including increased morbidity and mortality.
