In this paper, the author discusses the various correlates of health among tribal communities in the country. The paper attempts to identify the determining factors for the health status and health behaviors among tribal communities by focusing on certain interacting factors like infant mortality rate, maternal mortality, life expectancy, genetic disorders, sexually transmitted diseases and their nutritional status.
