This systematic review identifies the health outcomes of sexual violence on civilians in conflict zones between 1981 and 2014. The physical, mental and social outcomes of war-related sexual violence reported in the papers reflect its highly traumatic long term and multiple impacts. However, the authors conclude that the number and quality of studies published does not match the significance of the problem.
