Using National Sample Survey (NSS) conducted during July 1995–June 1996 in India this study examine gender differences in health and health care utilization among older adults in India and reports that that older women report worse self-rated health, higher prevalence of disabilities, marginally lower chronic conditions, and lower health care utilization than men.
