We proudly announce that Mr.Sabu KU, who is a doctoral research candidate under the “Closing the Gap: Health Equity Research Initiative”, at Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies, Trivandrum, has been selected for the Emerging Voices for Global Health (EV4GH) 2018. EV4GH is a multi-partner blended training program for young, promising and emerging health policy and systems researchers, decision makers and other health system actors with an interest to become influential global health voices and / or local change makers. Sabu is currently pursuing his PhD in inequities related to child undernutrition in a tribal population in Wyanad, Kerala.
Ms Sunu C Thomas, IDRC fellow (doctoral research student) has her first paper accepted for publication in the journal ‘The Qualitative Report’. ‘The Qualitative Report’ is a peer-reviewed, on-line monthly journal devoted to writing and discussion of and about qualitative, critical, action, and collaborative inquiry and research. In the paper, MsAnchor Sunu C Thomas has used a phenomenological approach to discuss male perceptions of infertility. The paper will appear in the issue of April 30, 2018. She has also been invited to present the work as part of a panel at the 10th TQR annual conference to be held on January 16-18, 2019 on the Nova South-eastern University main campus in Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA.
Two of our fellows (Mr.Bevin Vinay Kumar (PhD Fellow, AMCHSS) and Ms.Sunu C Thomas (PhD Fellow, AMCHSS) presented posters at Sixth National Bioethics Conference 2017 between January 13th and 15th at Pune. The main theme of the conference was Healing and dying with dignity: ethical issues in palliative care, end of life care and euthanasia. However, oral presentations of papers, posters, workshops and symposia will be open to topics from within the broader discipline of bioethics, including the conference sub themes.
