Theme: “Social Inequalities, Health & Well-being among Dalit Women Agricultural Labourers – Using the Lens of Dignity and Embodiment”. How do structures of inequality – caste, class and gender- get reflected in the health and well-being of a marginalized community? What are the meanings of dignity as articulated by Dalit women in the context of their lives & health? This webinar will present a study that engaged with these questions.
About Speaker: Ms. Mita Deshpande, PhD scholar, Centre of Social Medicine & Community Health, JNU, New Delhi, India. She has worked with the Jagrutha Mahila Sanghatan, Raichur, which is a collective of Dalit women agricultural labourers. She has completed her MPhil from JNU.
